Welcome!

Luther Memorial Preschool provides quality Christian preschool education for children ages 2 through 6.  We offer families flexible scheduling, with options for part-day enrollment or full-day with wrap around child care. LM Preschool is located downtown in the heart of UW-Madison’s campus at 1021 University Avenue.

“I don’t think that there are enough superlatives I could use to describe LMP. It is simply the most wonderful preschool environment for my son. It is extremely well run and the teaching staff are second to none. The educational environment is highly professional, supportive and caring.”     —Chanad S.

Mission

As a ministry of Luther Memorial Church, Luther Memorial Preschool shares the love and joy of Christ in its teaching and nurturing of children. Luther Memorial Preschool provides high quality, family-centered preschool programming that supports the development of the whole child and fosters a sense of belonging in God’s world.

Curriculum

Children enrolled in LM Preschool benefit from an educational and fun-filled curriculum with a solid foundation in Christian values. Well established research shows children learn best through play in a nurturing environment where they are respected and valued. LM Preschool’s professionally trained and experienced teachers create a warm environment that is educationally dynamic and diverse, offering opportunities to play, explore and learn. Field trips are used to enhance lessons learned in the classroom. As a parochial preschool, Christian lessons are woven into daily activities, such as prayers at group and meal times.

Summer Session 2010

June 14 to July 8 (tentative)

“Luther Memorial Preschool has been a 'find' for our family. The location of the school right on the UW campus is very convenient for us as student-parents. And the variety of available programs, from early drop off to lunch bunch, has made it possible for us to work around schedules that change every few months. Most of all, the warm, family-oriented environment of the school has allowed our children to grow and learn in a place that they love. We’ll be sad to see our oldest graduate to Kindergarten at the end of the year.”—Kat D.

“Teacher Ann brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to her teaching. She has realistic understandings of herself and her students and loves to share in their accomplishments.”—Sue M.

“The transition to preschool was hard for Chloe, but teacher Sandra consistently nurtured and built Chloes' confidence about not just being at school, but thriving at school. Chloe has grown so much since her first days at LM Preschool, but she routinely stops to greet Sandra in the morning I think she's does this to assure herself that all is good in her world at school.”—Chrissy K.

“We were excited to learn that Miss Suzanne would be Sophia's new teacher this fall! My girls and I have taken art classes taught by Suzanne at Warner Park Community Center so we know from experience what a stimulating and enjoyable environment she creates. She is a hands-on teacher; very loving. Every child I know absolutely adores her. The kids just seem to gravitate to her. Suzanne is a fantastic addition to our preschool. Sophia wanted me to add this: "Miss Suzanne is awesome!" :)”—Julie R.
